16th Annual Art Walk & Mural Blast

During the evening, downtown merchants will partner with area artists to bring art into downtown businesses. Merchants will offer extended hours. Local artists will be on hand to greet people and talk about their work, which will range from pottery to photography to jewelry and more. Bring your family down to enjoy watching artists demonstrate their skills. Some artists will have pieces of art for sale. You may just find that perfect painting for over the mantle, a piece of pottery to add to your special collection or a piece of art that compliments that corner table in the den. This popular event is one you won't want to miss! New this year is Mural Blast which will begin on Friday at 3pm - 9pm and again Saturday 10am - 5pm. Mural Blast is a live Mural painting event that will take place in conjunction with Art Walk. Three teams of artists will paint 4' x 8' murals on giant easels in the downtown district. At the completion of the event the murals will be hung in the community for everyone to enjoy. During the Mural Blast there will be two Kid Art Battles. The mural artists will choose children from the audience to help them create a work of art to take home. This will be a friendly competition between the mural artists. There will also be a kids art activity area for families to enjoy. Come cheer on your favorite artist during the event and watch the extra large murals come to life.
